ESG, Community Enterprise and Productivity Linked Wage System (PLWS) to Forge Ahead

MCMTC Members had the privilege to visit Thumbprints UTD Sdn Bhd, a FSC Certified and SEDEX Compliance printer on Monday, 12 June 2023.  Its Managing Director, Mr Lim Chee Yoong, had kindly agreed to host a factory tour complete with ESG Compliance and PLWS sharing at their premises in Rawang.  The itinerary was as below:

10.00 am – 10.05am Arrival of guests
10.05 am – 10.15 am Brief Introduction of Thumbprints and Corporate Video
10.15 am – 11.00 am Factory Tour, Waste Water Treatment Plant, Solar Generation & Scheduled Waste Area
11.00 am – 11.45 am Presentation of ESG Importance and Competitive Edge

11.45 am – 12.00 pm Q and A 
12.00 pm Lunch Provided by Thumbprints

The event started with President of MCMTC, Mr Callum Chen, who gave an Opening Speech followed by Introduction of Thumbprints by Mr Lim who covered : 

E nvironment:  sustain the environment and manage waste according to Environment standards EU Deforestation
                         renewable solar energy to offset Carbon Footprint
                         Waste Water Treatment Plant

S ocial          :   Sedex (2008) and Ecovadis (2021)
                        Thumbprints is a member of United Nations Global Compact (UNGC)

G overnance:    First Printer in Malaysia – ISO 37001 (Anti Bribery Management Systems)
                         Compliance to International Product Safety Act

Some examples of their ESG practices are Go Green Activities, Solar Power System, Paper Segregation, Waste Water Treatment Plant.  Mr Lim explained at length about their Community Enterprise and Productivity Linked Wage System (PLWS).
