The official launch of AKI 2026 (Anugerah Kecemerlangan Industri) took place on 3rd of March 2025 at MITI Tower. Officiated by YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul, Minister of MITI (Ministry of Investment, Trade & Industry), the event was also graced by YBhg Tan Sri Yong Poh Kon, Chairman of the AKI Council and Chairman of Royal Selangor Pewter International Sdn Bhd. Also present at the event were MITI’s senior leadership, agency heads, representatives from business chambers and associations and industry leaders.
The 2026 Industry Excellence Awards (AKI 2026) aim to honour companies that have excelled in management, maintained high standards in product and service quality,and consistently delivered greater value to their stakeholders. The evaluation for AKIis based on the Malaysia Business Excellence Framework (MBEF), an internationallyrecognized evaluation framework used to promote global best practices in business excellence. Evaluations related to IR4.0 and ESG are also carefully structured by MITI and the agencies involved, right from the early implementation stage of IR4.0 andESG for the industry.
Registration for the awards opened on 3rd of March and will remain open until 31st August 2025, inviting eligible companies from across the country to participate in this prestigious recognition program. As one of MITI’s flagship initiatives, this prestigious award underscores the Ministry’s commitment to fostering innovation and strengthening local industries to thrive and expand on the global stage.
