
Meeting with representatives from the Chamber of Commerce & industry of Turkemenstan (CCIT) and members from UIET, followed by meeting with JAKIM & HDC
On 5th February 2025, MCMTC had the privilege of participating in a courtesy visit by the Official Delegation of Turkmenistan comprising representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan (CCIT) and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (UIET). This engagement was held in collaboration with the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI)
The session began with welcoming remarks from Mr. Martin Ang, President of MCMTC, who highlighted the vital role of mid-tier companies in driving Malaysia’s exports and regional trade connectivity. Mr. Lee Han Ling, Executive Director of MICCI also shared MICCI’s commitment to nurturing stronger ties with Turkmenistan. The Turkmen delegation provided an overview of the country’s economic landscape, underlining priority sectors for collaboration, trade and investment.
The second session was a dedicated discussion on the Halal trade industry. Representatives from the Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) and the Halal Development Corporation (HDC) joined the session to share Malaysia’s experience and leadership in Halal standards, certification and market development. This insightful exchange enabled both parties to explore opportunities expanding Turkmenistan’s Halal-certified exports and identify areas where Malaysia could lend expertise and support market expansion.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of tokens of appreciation, reaffirming MCMTC’s commitment to foster impactful partnerships and sustainable economic growth. MCMTC looks forward to playing an active role in unlocking new opportunities for its members and contributing to Malaysia’s broader trade and investment aspirations in Central Asia.
