MIDA Flagship Investment Seminar
On 11 November 2025, MCMTC attended Flagship Investment Seminar for the Central Region under the theme “Central Region – Innovating Industries, Connecting Markets” launched by Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA). The event brought together over 800 industry leaders, investors, policymakers, and business communities to focus on cluster based industrial growth and a resilient supply-chain ecosystem.
In his keynote address, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz emphasised the Central Region’s role in Malaysia’s industrial growth, linking the state and federal initiatives with industry clusters in Selangor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and the central region, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.
A notable takeaway was the push to boost investment in priority sectors such as electrical & electronics (E&E), pharmaceuticals, and the halal food industry by leveraging the region’s dense assets of infrastructure, talent and logistics. MIDA stressed that the Central Region’s competitive edge lies not only in its physical infrastructure but also in strong collaboration between government, academia, and private-sector players.
On the first fireside chat were the head of the different states 1. YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Menteri Besar of Selangor; 2. YAB Dato’ Seri Aminuddin Harun, Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan; 3. YAB Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh, Chief Minister of Melaka and 4. YB Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories). It was a unique discussion prompting interesting questions from the floor.
Our MCMTC member, Datuk Anna Teo, Founder and Group CEO of Hernan Corporation was a panellist for the session: Powering Smart Industries: How 5G is Transforming Manufacturing and Services. The panel explored the rollout of 5G in the automation and digitisation of industries, transforming operations across the manufacturing and services sectors.
MCMTC looks forward to more opportunities for our members to be involved in the global supply chain of the FDIs which MIDA has approved.
