Plusxnergy : What’s Next After NEM

MCMTC was invited to join the event organised by one of our members, PlusXnergy. Titled “What’s Next After NEM: How Businesses Can Maximize Incentives & Grants by Adopting Smart Solutions”, the insightful session was held at Le Meridien, Petaling Jaya on the 13th January 2026.

Following the conclusion of Net Energy Metering (NEM) 3.0 on June 30, 2025, the next phase for Malaysian solar adoption is the Solar Accelerated Transition Action Programme (Solar ATAP), effective from January 1, 2026.

Group CEO & Co-Founder of Plus Xnergy, Mr. Ko Chuan Zhen, delivered the Welcome Speech. Mr Ryan Oh, Executive Director of PlusXnergy, then proceeded to share how businesses can move beyond NEM by adopting smarter energy solutions, digital systems and automation to improve efficiency, lower operating costs and strengthen long-term competitiveness.

The session also covered government incentives, grants and green financing schemes and how they can be strategically leveraged to support investments in solar energy, energy management systems, smart manufacturing and digital transformation. Thank you to MGTC (Malaysian Green Tech and Climate Change Corporation) for sharing.

The session concluded with an engaging fireside chat, where participants raised practical questions on Solar ATAP implementation pathways, available grants and incentives.

The event provided timely clarity and practical direction for businesses navigating the post-NEM landscape. Our MCMTC Members walk-the-talk in “Sharing Expertise and Experience to promote sustainable growth.”
