On 3 November 2025, MCMTC, as a Strategic Partner for the SOBA (Star Outstanding Business Awards) programme 2025, attended the SOBA Elevate 2025, an exclusive business growth forum designed to empower Malaysian business leaders to scale and future-proof their enterprises. Held at the Menara STAR, PJ, the full-day programme brought together SME leaders and industry experts to sharpen strategies for scaling businesses and navigating today’s dynamic market.
The first panel focused on ESG in action, stressing that even SMEs must embed sustainability early to remain relevant. Panelists shared how circular practices, strong governance and leadership commitment can turn ESG principles into measurable impact.
The second session, centred on cultivating a high-impact culture, provided practical insights on attracting and retaining talent in a fast-changing environment. Panelists emphasised agility, innovation and putting people first as key drivers of resilient, future-ready organisations.
In the final session, Scaling SMEs: From Start-Up to RM100 Million and Beyond, our member Mr. Ko Chuan Zhen, Co-Founder and Group CEO of Plus Xnergy Sdn Bhd, our Council Member, Puan Hasziah Bte Mat Yazit @ Mohd Yazid (Dep. Director, Transformation & Digital Trade Division, Customised Programme Section, Mid-Tier Unit, MATRADE), together with Sean Tan, Chief Business Officer of Credit Guarantee Corporation (CGC) Malaysia, and Dato’ Calvin Chan, Managing Director of Oriental Kopi, shared real world strategies for sustainable expansion. The discussion covered product excellence, building scalable systems, leveraging trade opportunities and the importance of founder-led vision in accelerating growth.
