Townhall Session For Five Act reviews under MITI and agency

The MITI Townhall Session For Five Act reviews under MITI and agency held on 14 February 2025 brought together stakeholders from the public and private sectors to discuss Malaysia’s productivity and economic reforms. Representing the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), Deputy Minister Liew Chin Tong announced the ministry’s plan to review five significant legislations, with the aim of strengthening industrial development and preparing Malaysia for a more complex economic landscape.

The legislations under review include the Countervailing and Anti-Dumping Duties Act 1993, the Malaysia Productivity Corporation Act 1966, the Standards of Malaysia Act 1996, and the Strategic Trade Act 2010. Collectively, these reforms mark a significant step toward modernizing Malaysia’s industrial framework to support long-term growth, competitiveness, and sustainability.
