Ngeam Engineering Works Sdn Bhd Ngeam Engineering Works Sdn Bhd (NEWSB) is a name that signifies unity and integrity as well as excellence in engineering. NEWSB was founded in 1977 by Ngeam Thong Kwong with only two to three workers. His brother, Ngeam Chong Kwai, joined the company in the early years when their focus was on providing machinery repair services for customers.
Both brothers had experience as apprentices, Thong Kwong is a machinist while Chong Kwai is an electrican. Under their guidance, NEWSB grew from a small family business to a leading engineering service provider and manufacturer in Malaysia that provides engineering solutions in three main areas:

NEWSB’s products are exported to more than 10 countries such as Indonesia, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, Africa, the Philippines and Vietnam. Three areas of specialisation
NEWSB specialises in engineering projects and fabrication, poultry feed mill plant equipment and NPK fertiliser plant equipment. “We are also committed to delivering professional, effective, and customised engineering solutions that come with quality craftmanship to meet industrial engineering needs,” says Thong Kwong. Located in Shah Alam, Malaysia, NEWSB’s factory occupies a vast area of 26,000 meter square and equipped with advanced manufacturing facilities such as laser-cutting machines, water-jet-cutting machines, plasma-cutting machines, robotic welding, CNC milling machines and lathe machines. “We made significant investments in advanced machinery and operating systems to produce highquality, cost-efficient deliverables for our clients,” says Chong Kwai.
Engineering Projects & Fabrication
The company also provides one-stop engineering solutions to meet specific needs such as prefabrication, welding, machining, heat treatment, surface treatment, hydraulic works, pneumatics works, assembly services, export packing. “In addition to these services, we also fabricate specialised equipment, pressure vessels, factory automation machineries, furnaces, rotary drums, filter vessels, precise machine structure and others for engineering companies and plant owners that are in the mining, chemical and electronics industries,” says Thong Kwong. These machineries and fabrications are exported to global markets such as Japan, Australia, Taiwan, Indonesia, Africa, Philippines, the USA and South America.
Poultry Feedmills Plant Equipment
NEWSB has also established a solid reputation of providing professional and effective engineering solutions in the poultry feed mill business. “We
deliver customised systems to meet customers’ requirements by working closely with them through concept design, layout planning, detailed design, machine manufacturing, project management, installation, and commissioning work,” says Chong Kwai. NEWSB’s skilful and experienced team provides a full range of poultry feed equipment and can design and build a plant size of up to 30 tons per hour. The company provides a total solution which includes raw material storage, conveyance, cleaning, weighing, grinding, mixing, pelleting, cooling, screening, bagging, and a storage system. Tse Ping adds “Plant automation is essential in the rise of Industry 4.0. We provide a fully-automated control system that includes the PLC SCADA for plant control, reporting system, monitoring traceability system, as well as integrated with Industry 4.0 robotics and IOT system.”
NPK Fertilizer Plant & Equipment
To date, NEWSB has supplied and installed a total of 12 NPK Granulation Fertiliser Processing Plants; with a total capacity of 1.5 million metric ton per year, in Malaysia and Indonesia “We started the fertiliser processing plant and equipment business in 1979. Which means that we have over 40 years of experience in fertiliser plant equipment operations and after-sales services for equipment parts,” says Thong Kwong. “Now, we supply fertiliser processing plant as well as spare parts and services to Malaysia and Indonesia. We are also capable of supplying NPK Granulation fertiliser plant with a capacity of up to 200,000 metric tons per year,” he adds. Apart from that, NEWSB also offers a full range of NPK fertiliser equipment that are designed and manufactured in Malaysia. This includes weighing systems, automatic bagging systems, vibrating screens, dryer drums, cooler drums, coating drums, granulation drums, crushers, bucket elevators, screw conveyors, belt conveyors, drag chain conveyor feeders, cyclones, dedusting system, and ancillary equipment. All equipment sold to clients are fully supported by the company. “We have indoor sales support as well as site engineer to handle all the technical, enquiry, logistic of consumables parts.
