MIDF Forum: Future Ready and Halal Readiness

The MIDF 2025 Roadshow  was successfully launched on 20 February 2025 at Menara MITI, Kuala Lumpur. Themed “Embracing Global Competitiveness: Future Ready and Halal Businesses,” the event was officiated by YBhg. Datuk Hanafi Sakri, Deputy Secretary General of MITI, and by Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Mamat, Chairman of MIDF, along with key industry leaders and stakeholders. Our President, Mr. Martin Ang, was one of the invited VIPs.

MIDF introduced two major strategic initiatives to support SME growth: 1.Future Ready Financing (FRF) – a RM200 million facility to help SMEs adopt automation and Industry 4.0 technologies;  and 2. Halal Accreditation Technology Improvement (HATI) – a RM100 million programme aimed at assisting businesses in obtaining halal certification and expanding into global markets. These initiatives target the transformation of 100 traditional factories into smart factories, the creation of 500 high-skilled jobs, and the development of 100 local tech talents and startups.

MCMTC’s member, Mr Yap Keng Teck (Managing Director of Bizsphere Sdn Bhd), moderated the insightful panel session: “Forum – Embracing Global Competitiveness: Future Ready & Halal Businesses”, where our MCMTC Treasurer, Mr. Chu Chee Seng, (Managing Director of Vepro Group Sdn Bhd), together with 2 other panellists, Dato’ Foo Chi Ching (M.D. of Seasoning Specialities SB) and En. Muhammad Azrul Amin bin Ali (Acting Head of Business Advisory Unit of MIDF) shared their insights.
