On 22nd October 2025, our member, Control Union Malaysia, together with the Malaysian Dutch Business Council (MDBC), and with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Malaysa, co-organised the Sustainable Action Conference 2025 (SAC2025) and the MDBC Innovation & Sustainability Awards (MISA) which was held at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur under the powerful theme “The Future Is Now: Accelerating Sustainable Transformation.”
Officially launched by the Deputy Secretary General, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), and graced by His Excellency, Mr. Jacques Werner, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Malaysia , the event brought together policymakers, corporate leaders, and sustainability advocates to exchange ideas and strategies aligned with Malaysia’s Net Zero 2050 ambition. The conference featured impactful discussions and presentations focused on measurable and collaborative sustainability efforts.
One of the key highlights was the Flagship Initiative: From Children to Children: An inspiring programme where RM10,000 was donated to each participating schools to initiate sustainability projects, with the champion school, SK Pandamaran Jaya, receiving an additional RM10,000 for their Phase 2 project. This initiative aims to empower our youth to lead community-driven environmental change activities.
In the Zero Waste to Landfill Pledge Signing Ceremony, nine participating organisations (including our esteemed members Weng Meng Group of Companies, Lean Giap Group of Companies and of course, Control Union reaffirmed their commitment to eliminate landfill waste and promote circular economy practices.
The conference truly served as a dynamic platform for sharing insights, innovations, and partnerships driving Malaysia’s green transformation. Kudos to Control Union for organising such a successful and impactful conference!
