On 18 September 2025, MCMTC and 28 of its members visited Dato’ Sivasuriyamoorthy, the Deputy CEO of MIDA, and the Domestic Investment Team at the MIDA HQ in KL Sentral. It was an insightful meeting indeed. Dato’ Sivasuriyamoorthy shared with us what MIDA actually does – MIDA does not only attract FDIs (Foreign Direct Investments) to Malaysia but they also support the local Domestic Direct Investments. We were very impressed with the figures shared. We were briefed on the available grants and other facilitation measures applicable to specific focus areas.
Besides having a better understanding of MIDA’s functions and roles, the session also provided a platform for MCMTC members to discuss key issues and explore areas for improvement.
This engagement reaffirmed the importance of strong partnerships between industry and government in driving investments and growth by promoting the local industries and strengthening the role of Mid-Tier Companies in Malaysia’s economy. We look forward to more engagements and collaborations between MCMTC and MIDA.
