RK South Asia Sdn Bhd (RKSA) was incorporated in 1984. RKSA is a pioneer in the roller chain industry and strategically located at Perai Industrial Estate in Penang. The main activities of RKSA include manufacturing of motorcycle chain, bicycle chain and industrial chain. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and more than 30 years of expertise, RKSA is the largest chain manufacturer in Malaysia and one of the top chain makers in Southeast Asia with its world-renowned motorcycle parts brands such as ‘RK’, ‘RKM’ and ‘SSS’.
In the early stage of its production, RKSA produced standard steel chains mainly for Japanese original equipment manufacturers (OEM) such as Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Kawasaki. As part of the company’s expansion plan and to satisfy the global market demand, RKSA took the initiative to diversify its product range into colored chains, sealed chains and racing chains. At the same time, RKSA established new plants namely Excel South Asia Sdn Bhd, Excel Kogyo Sdn Bhd and Excel Rim Sdn Bhd to make motorcycle sprockets and aluminum rims. With these merits, RK EXCEL Group penetrated the worldwide replacement markets (REM) and supplied to other OEM makers such as MODENAS, KTM, Triumph, CFMOTO, Royal Enfiel Excel Rim Sdn Bhd and d, HERO MotoCorp and many more.
RKSA supplies to both domestic and international markets. In Malaysia, RKSA covers 100% of the OEM market and 80% REM market. For overseas markets, RKSA exports to Asia particularly ASEAN, Europe, Oceania, Africa, North America and South America. Over the last decade, RK EXCEL Group has been expanding steadily throughout Asia, Europe, North America and South America.
