MITI Budget 2026 : MITI Dialogue session with industry

On 12 September 2025, the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) held a Budget 2026 Dialogue Session with Industry at Perdana Hall, MITI.

The session gathered industry leaders, chambers and associations to present proposals aimed at shaping a competitive, sustainable, and inclusive national budget. More than 40 proposals were presented, covering key areas such as green investments, R&D incentives, export facilitation, automation, ESG frameworks and SME support.

MITI Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz highlighted the importance of industry feedback in ensuring that Budget 2026 responds to the realities of business and investment.

Representing MCMTC, Hon. President Callum Chen highlighted the critical role of cash flow in Malaysia’s economy. He raised two key proposals for the government’s consideration:

  1. Reintroduce the Reinvestment Allowance (RA) for Year of Assessment 2025, 2026, and 2027 to support reinvestment and expansion.
  2. Expand SJPP coverage to Mid-Tier Companies, reinstating the 80% guarantee and increasing the financing quantum from RM20 million to RM30 million per company.

These recommendations reinforced MCMTC’s commitment to supporting policies that strengthen business resilience and drive Malaysia’s long-term growth.
